Grumpy Unicorns by Hijinx Theatre
As beautiful as moonlight, Unicorns hold a special place in our collective imaginations. And it turns out they are real! But, they’ve got beef.
“We’re Unicorns, get over it. We know what you want: to pet us and take pictures and use our magic. But we’ve had enough! Just leave us alone.”
Grumpy Unicorns is what it says on the tin; the magic of discovering unicorns are in fact real (!) and humanity’s consequence for failing to take them seriously. This is one glittery GRUMPY troupe like you’ve never seen before. Hijinx is one of Europe’s leading inclusive theatre companies, creating outstanding performances with learning disabled and/or autistic artists on stage and on screen, for Wales and for the world.
Performers and Crew: Tom Ayres, Ellen Groves, George Orange, Jonathan Pugh, Fiona Wilson
Guns and Rosie’s Tattoo Parlour by Trifle Gathering
Rosie and Rosie met each other studying beauty therapy and St.Austell College. They quickly realised they shared the same name, the same boyfriend and a love of body art.
Desperate to clock up tattooing hours to gain their level 2 accredited certificate in Tattoo Training these two ambitious girls borrow their aunt Phillipa’s caravan, grab a few mates then hit the road in search of brave customers.
This mobile tattoo parlour is an interactive comedy experience for all those who want to explore the world of inkology. ‘Customers’ step into the caravan to undergo a full tattoo ‘experience’; from the consent form, to the (temporary) tattoo itself, the audience are taken on a unique journey, and leave not quite knowing if the tattoo is real or not…
20 min experience for groups of 6-8 people, running through the day
Performers: Sally Crooks, Kyla Goodey, Dani Richards & Hannah Stephens
Tongues of Fire Street Band
A mini street band with a big punch, the band is a small version of the mighty Tongues of Fire and is one the UKs leading street bands, playing festivals and outdoor events all over the UK. The band is led by street band veteran Tim Hill and draws on traditions of funky marching bands, village, church and circus bands.
Playing music that ranges through funky New Orleans brass, circus, English traditional music, jazz, ska, hymns, original material and popular songs, they make a rich, wild and unique sound, both very English and international.
“Referencing the collective shamanic voodoo of Sun Ra, they fire up an unholy modal roustabout of a party. Blindingly good. 5/5” International DJ Magazine.
Duration: 45 mins
Performers: Veteran Street Musician Tim Hill, Emma Holbrook (Drums), Tom Francombe (Sousaphone) & Vincent Touret (Trombone)
The Variety Spectacular by Jones and Barnard
Jones and Barnard started their careers on the cobblestones of Covent Garden 30 years ago, and have now made it all the way to the giddy heights of North Devon. Performing comedy variety shows over the world, they specialise in juggling and escapology.
Watch out for both flying objects and jokes that may soar well above your head. With fun and laughter at the forefront they are a great classic family street show.
