Red Herring’s Silent Disco

In a world that’s lost some of its sparkle, we’re on hand to bring you a dose of shizzle. Let those Disco beats lure you back into fun times and let rip with your family, friends and neighbours. As James Brown said, ‘The one thing that can solve most of our problems is dancing!’ so we’re putting this to the test…

Our Disco Divas get the party started, taking the crowd through some favourite Disco moves – anyone for some Funky Chicken and Mashed Potato? These are put together to create groovy choreography, with everyone dancing together. And there are prizes up for grabs – for style, enthusiasm and randomness!

We can arrive at a private garden, neighbourhood patch or public park with our set of 70 radio controlled headsets. We offer 2 x 45 minute slots with an hours rest in between. We have 2 artists on the road and will need the support of a steward to help hand out headsets and potentially help to muster a crowd if necessary. can come with a third to give out headsets. Alternatively we can provide someone to do this.

We can accommodate 70 people at a time. Many people will dance with us for a whole set but many pop in and out, meaning that their headsets can be shared with others.

A socially distanced silent disco was originally commissioned by the Burton Art Gallery in Bideford during the Covid Pandemic and since then has adapted to more regular times

The Music

We specialise in Disco and can offer:

  • A range of well loved classics and less familiar rare groove which will appeal to the disco expert
  • A Christmas set for seasonal events
  • A set list themed around a particular request, perhaps focusing on specific artists.

Most Silent Disco set ups in clubs use two channels, so that dancers can tune in to different playlists. There’s fun in trying to work out who’s dancing to what. However, when dancing outside in public during the daytime with small crowds, people can be a little more shy. Therefore we advise using one channel, so that people can feel safety in numbers and part of the crowd. If however, you would wish to have 2 channels, we can accommodate this.
